My last blog

Hi! Today I’m going to talk about my experience in this course. It has been a very constructive experience because I have learnt a lot of new words. I remember when I was in high school, they only gave me handbooks and those things, that was very boring by the way, now we’ve done a lot of things, we did blogs, videos and many more.

The blogs have helped me pretty much to learn how to write and understand, to express some things that maybe I haven’t told anyone before, or things about me that aren’t known by everyone.

To say something that I didn’t like is the fact that when we do our final test, our teacher won’t be there, I think he should be the one to do it because he’s been with us the whole semester. Another thing I’d like to change about this course is to add more content related to my career, I mean something related to teeth and stuff, that would be much better.

What do I need to improve? I think I need to improve my speaking because I don’t do it too well and it’s so hard to express myself. I plan to improve it by watching series in English and hopefully in the future, by travelling abroad, I’ve always wanted to do that.

What about the use of English in my daily routine? Well, to be honest, outside of the English class I don’t use it too much, I often use it to read some instructions of things that I buy and just that but I think that if I learn more, I’d use it more.

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Today I will talk about what changes I would make to the dental studies program.
First, the academic burden would decrease since most of the students are stressed, it is a stressful race from beginning to end.
Second would change the method of approval of some subject where for example the patient dies or does not go the student reproves automatically, because I find it unfair and because they do not see the abilities of the student.
Third I would lower the grade of exemption of the subject to 5.0, because the average 5.5 is high and because I consider that a student with an average of 5.0 is equally good and shows that if he handles the contents.
Fourth, it would eliminate the evolutions of the easier subject because nobody fails and because they eliminate study time for the most fundamental subject.
As for the facilities of the university, I would renew the "preclinico" (place of practice) because it does not meet all the requirements we need and because the structures are very old (they always need maintenance and we lose practice time). It would not be bad a bit more technology because things are from the year 1000 before Christ.
The teaching method is good for something is the best university (that gives me pride)
I would also like some companions to be more supportive and not so individualistic. They always compete and recriminate each other.
With these changes the university would be perfect and pleasant. I feel that some of these changes are needed to achieve students passionate about dentistry.

my favorite subject

Hello! Today I will talk about my favorite subject. The truth is that it was difficult decide, because the subject that I like the most at the same time I hate it, this subject is called simulation. It is a subject very related to the race and is very demanding at the same time.

This semester we have done works of fixed prosthesis, removable prosthesis and endodontics. They are very entertaining activities but the disorganization of the course and the miscalculation in terms of time the teacher has made it a very unpleasant and exasperating because we all fear reprobate, not for notes but for lack of time to reach perform all practical activities.

The practical activities are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, where generally at the beginning we have content control and then perform the work described in the guides that the teacher uploads to the platform of "UCURSOS" that are related to the subject (fixed prosthesis , removable or endodontics).

I like it because it teaches me about the subject itself and because it is most related to what I will do in the future. The subject is very entertaining and the best thing is that the theory is put into practice

Adoption, education, violencie on tv and recycling

Adoption is a gesture of great love because not only give a home, but also love and protection to a child. I think that if all families adopted a helpless child there would be less suffering in the world. Personally, I would love to adopt in the future, because here in Chile children suffer a lot in SENAME. Guilt of this has the government who neglects this organization. I would like Chile to be a little simpler and accept the homosexual couple as a good family, if in the end what matters is the love they can give and not their condition.
Education is the fundamental pillar for a cultured and constructive society, in Chile education is not good, it has many flaws and little is done to improve it. The families with more money can opt for a better education, which I consider totally unfair, that is why I support free and quality education.
The human being is the culprit of what the world is destroyed, we do not take care of it or value it. Plastic surrounds it and destroys everything it touches. The main ones that are affected are the animals who are invaded by unnecessary dirt and that we could avoid. That's why let's take care of the world together.
Television violence seems to me to be a bad example for children and society in general. It incites hatred and bad habits. The television should teach and be constructive, not to criticize and question the life of celebrities, much less invade their privacy. Television has to change its focus and only then will the violence diminish since TV is a reference for new generations.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Hello, do you have dreams after finishing your first university career?
I have many dreams, I do not know if I want to do a postgraduate course but if I know that I want to study English, to study this language I would like to go to the USA for several months. I want to study this language because it is essential to interact with foreigners, because I do not handle it well and because it is the universal language and for that I want to leave Chile. Also to go in search of new roads and cultures. I would like to study in an academy in person, so I have to go live in the North American continent.
My second dream in life is to go to the general area south of Chile (which is very beautiful), to collect points and apply for a specialty scholarship to be an orthodontist.
My third dream in life also consists of going to live in the USA to study dentistry, because there are the best dentists and the best universities in the world.
Ohh I've also always wanted to study commercial engineering, because I love business. This career would give me the tools to manage and become independent with a dental business.
There are so many dreams that I have, that I still do not have absolute clarity of my life! These are some plans about work but I also have family plans.

My Future Job

Hello, today I will talk about the work that I would like to have, as I imagine it, etc.

I would like to have a job that is not so demanding, that gives me free time to share with my family and friends, as much as possible to be my own boss.

I imagine myself in something administrative but related to the area I am studying, dentistry. My work will not be outdoors, but I hope to have the freedom to go out when I deem convenient, obvious without taking advantage of it!

I would like to travel a lot in my work, to learn new knowledge and to grow as a person. I would also like my job to give me the economic stability to be able to go on vacation with the people I love. Not everything in this life is work, or not? .

I would like to have a good salary because I will have to study a lot, it would be a good reward for so much sacrifice.

About the specialty, I do not have that clear but I would like to be an orthodontist because it is a specialty that allows you to see great changes in people. His smile changes and gives him confidence and freedom to laugh at patients. It changes your life!

Well I hope that what I dream will come true one day to be happy and to make my parents happy.

dentistry for life

Hi, I'm Camila Orellana, a dentistry student from the prestigious and demanding university of Chile. The dentistry career is a career in health that is responsible for everything related to the oral cavity.

When I was in seventh grade, I decided that I was going to study dentistry. At the beginning, all of us felt that I was going to change my mind because I was too small according to them to know what I wanted, but my decision was getting stronger every time.Every time I went to the dentist, he was so nice and loving that I was more willing to help people than he was.

The year arrived in 2017 and with it the results of the PSU, I saw them nervous and seeing that it was in any university that taught the race gave me a very great happiness.

After that, I had to decide where to study, my parents wanted me to study in the university of Talca because of the proximity to Licantén. But I decided to go to Santiago to study at the University of Chile, because my best friends with whom I live came here too and because it are the best academically and because I want to be one of the best professionals and the tools are here.

The road so far has been difficult and quite stressful but satisfying because the race each time I like it more. It are has a lot of practice and manual skills, I think that's why I chose her.
